New York, NY — On May 4th, 2015 The American Cancer Society celebrated Marvin Hamlisch featuring music from his Score for “SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS” (Broadway Musical, 2002.) The organizers gathered a wonderful ensemble of performers. The event, titled A Spring Tribute to Marvin Hamlisch, took place at the Hudson Theatre.

The cast included Marc Kudisch (Hand to God) as J.J. Hunsecker and Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan (Newsies) as Sidney Falcone as well as Adam Jacobs (Aladdin) as Dallas, Lindsay Mendez (Wicked) as Rita, Marissa McGowan (A Little Night Music) as Susan, Bernard Dotson (Sweet Smell of Success — Original Cast), Steven Brinberg, Peter Dugan, and Charles Yang. The ensemble will feature Craig Blake, Dionne Figgins, Matt Gibson, Justin Henry, Reed Kelly, Amanda Kloots, Ryan Steer, Mindy Wallace, Chryssie Whitehead, Ryan Worsing, and Sam Zack.
The performance was directed by John Simpkins with musical direction by J. Ernest Green, Choreography by Emmy Winner Tyce Diorio, stage management by Tony Award Winner Peter Lawrence and sound by Bob Rendon.

Marc Kudisch, garnered critical acclaim as well as his third Tony and fourth Drama Desk Award nominations, in Broadway role as Franklin Hart in the new Dolly Parton Broadway musical 9 to 5. Prior to that, he was seen as the Snake, Balladeer and Narrator in the Roundabout Theatre’s revival of The Apple Tree, while doing double duty and performing as the Pirate King in New York City Opera’s revival of The Pirates of Penzance. Marc returned to Broadway this season in Hand to God. Television and film credits include Best Man In The Dark, Smash, Val in Break-In for the Lifetime network, Conrad Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie for ABC Television, guest appearances on Sex in the City, The Late Show with David Letterman, recurring roles on All My Children and Loving.
