Idina Menzel sang – beautifully – a song from the Musical Sweet Smell of Success: “That’s How I Say Goodbye”
At the end of the song she said a few words remembering Marvin Hamlisch and introduced the Company of A Chorus Line (Currently playing at The London Palladium)
Idina Menzel:“Marvin Hamlisch was a dear dear friend of mine. I was really really fortunate to have him accompany me in the tour the last few years before he passed. He was a great mentor to me – and to so many others – and I feel incredibly honored to be here to celebrate his life this evening. And of course, Marvin’s biggest theatrical hit was A Chorus Line, so please Watch this: (The company of A Chorus Line is first seen at work at The Palladium; then the Company enters the stage at the Royal Opera House and performs: “ One”.
