MARVIN MAKES MUSIC
By Marvin Hamlisch.
Illustrated by Jim Madsen.

32 pp. Dial.  (Picture book; ages 4 to 8)

THE NEW YORK TIMES – This sweet and inspirational autobiographical tale is a requiem of sorts for its author, the late Emmy, Grammy and Oscar-winning composer, who died before his first picture book was published. But what a musical life he lived — and from such a tender age! Hamlisch’s piano skills got him into Juilliard at the age of 6.

  4. MARVIN MAKES MUSIC: This book has opened my eyes to how great a book can truly be. I read this book to my 3 1/2 year old and 13 month old every night. I received it as a gift from a great friend of mine. At night my boys are allowed to choose 1 book each to be read to them. Since the first night I read the book to them they have grabbed the same book every night. This means I’m reading the book twice before bed time. They love it and can’t get enough of it. I recommend to all parents who buy this book to share the love and give one as a gift to another child you know. It has been the best gift my boys could have ever received. Happy Harry
