  1. Terre Blair Hamlisch’s wonderful visit to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia yesterday reading from the children’s book Marvin Makes Music in honor of The Philly POPS concert series “Marvin Hamlisch -- A Musical Tribute.” at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. What an extra added bonus to have Valerie Lemon, Marvin and Terre’s dear friend, sing for the children. Orian Hunter, 8, of Levittown, Pennsylvania was a delight and it was so nice to include Dr. Sharon Sutherland. She is pediatrician at the CHOP Care Network in Cobbs Creek, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Not only did Terre read in the Ryan Seacrest Studio, it was broadcast to every patient room in the hospital PLUS they are making DVD’s to share with other primary care community offices through the “Reach Out and Read” program. We thank everyone at CHOP for making this a lifelong memory for us all. We thank everyone at CHOP for making this a lifelong memory for us all.

  2. When Don Pippin approached the podium to conduct Marvin Hamlisch’s Overture to A Chorus Line first he took the microphone from Conductor Larry Blank and, with emotion in his voice, revealed that, just as he left the wings to come out to conduct the number, Terre Hamlisch handed him “Marvin’s baton”!. A great end to a great concert.
