The two Broadway stars are joining forces for a series of 2018 concerts saluting the composers.
Broadway leading ladies Donna McKechnie and Andrea McArdle are joining forces for Hamlisch and Sondheim, scheduled to perform two shows on March 10, 2018, at New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

The two stars will sing numbers by Marvin Hamlisch, who wrote the score to A Chorus Line,They’re Playing Our Song, The Way We Were, Sophie’s Choice, and other shows and movies, and by Stephen Sondheim, who composed Company, Follies, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, and many other musicals.
McArdle, who originated the title role in the musical Annie in 1977, has starred in Broadway productions of Jerry’s Girls, Starlight Express, State Fair, Les Misérables and Beauty and the Beast. McKechnie won the 1976 Tony for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as Cassie in A Chorus Line, and appeared in Broadway productions including Company, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, On The Town, and with McArdle in State Fair. McArdle was also a special guest at McKechnie’s solo concert, In Good Company, at Birdland jazz club in New York City in 2014.

Since her Tony-Winning breakthrough as CASSIE in the original production of A Chorus Line, Donna McKechnie has developed into one of the cabaret’s most seasoned performers.
We first met Andrea McArdle when she originated the title role in Broadway’s Annie, and since then she’s developed into a powerhouse interpreter of musical theater and American Songbook classics.
For this intimate performance in NJPAC’s Chase Room, these two song stylists will lend their vocal expertise to a collection o memorable songs by Marvin Hamlisch and Stephen Sondheim.
