Baldwin told Playbill, “I saw the out of town tryout and loved its humor and heart with such flawed humans at the center. And those Marvin Hamlisch songs with lyrics by my friend David Zippel give an actor so much to bite into. I’m thrilled to get to do it.”

Baldwin (Finian’s Rainbow, Big Fish) is cast as downhearted single-mom and former dancer Paula, with Fontana (Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella,
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Elliot, the overzealous actor who ends up moving into her apartment. Baldwin, who earned a Tony nomination for her performance in
the 2010 revival of Finian’s Rainbow, has also appeared in Big Fish and Wonderful Town. She is currently in rehearsals for the Bette Midler revival of
Hello, Dolly!, playing Irene Molloy.

The musical is based on Simon’s 1977 screenplay, which starred Marsha Mason and Richard Dreyfuss, who won the Oscar for Best Actor.
